Mashan
Stone Forest:
The Mashan Mountain, which covers an area of 10 square
kilometers, lies 4 kilometers west to Jimo city. The
State Council designated it as a State Natural Reservation
of Geological Remains.
Mount Tianzhushan:
Mount Tianzhushan in Pingdu city is well-known for
the rare inscriptions of the Wei Dynasty. It is popular
with tourists interested in Chinese calligraphy.
Mount Daze:
The Daze mountain in Pingdu is renowned as the land
of Chinese Grapes. It is also a tour resort with ancient
grottoes and inscriptions attracting many tourists who
are interested in Chinese calligraphy.

Langyatai Terrace:
The Langyatai Terrace, 183
meters high above sea level, is surrounded by the
sea from three sides. It is rich in historic sites
such as ^Wangyue Pagoda ̄, ^Royal Steps ̄ and ^Xufu
Temple ̄.

4、Resort areas
Shilaoren National Holiday
Resort:
Situated on the east coast of the city, Shilaoren
(the Old Man of Stone) National Holiday Resort,
which covers an area of 10.8 square kilometers,
is designated as a state resort by the State Council
in 1992. These planned tourist areas include a
villa area, a cruise area on the sea, a leisure
area, an International Beer City, the biggest
bathing beach of Qingdao and a 150-hectare ocean
park. Located on the coast against a background
of mountains, this resort is set to gain in popularity.

Xuejiadao Tourist
Resort:
This holiday resort is located in the Huangdao
District on the west coast of the Jiaozhou bay covering
an area of three square kilometers. It boasts fine
natural beaches and is perfect for angling. Among
the numerous islands in the area are Zhucha Island,
which is called the pearl of the Yellow Sea and
Sanlian Isles. The ancient battlefield at Kulongshan,
sunrise at the Huangan Temple, the morning bell
at Shangquan and sunset at Zhimen are also well
worth a visit. |
Langyatai Resort Area:
Situated in the Langya town of Jiaonan city, this
holiday resort comprises the Langya Terrace, a famous
historical relic, the Dragon Bay Beach and other
scenic spots. Tianheng
Island Holiday Village:
Situated in Hengmen Bay of the Yellow Sea, this
popular resort area is now teeming with hotels,
offering entertainment like the circus, boat trips,
hunting-grounds and various sports such as angling,
water skiing and parachuting on the sea.

5、Laoshan

Laoshan:
Noted for the Highest Mountain on the Sea,
Laoshan soars to 1.13 meters above sea-level,
and is characterized by its precipitous cliffs
and streams running through the rocks. As
a Taoist sanctuary, the mountain is known
as a Fairyland. It is chronicled that even
Mount Taishan pales beside Mount Laoshan in
the East sea. Throughout the ages, Chinese
imperial rulers dispatched envoys to mount
Laoshan to search for the elixir of life.
Men of letters also left their inscriptions

| Dynasty and has since maintained its influence
throughout the dynastic age. It is also called the
Second Monastery of the Taoist Quanzhen Sect. It
had nine palaces, eight temples and seventy-two
convents in its heyday. The Taoist monks of Laoshan
are well known. Its antastic rocks and caves, waterfalls
and the roads around its peaks are true wonders.
For this reason, it is designated by the state as
one of the most important scenic spots in china.

Taiqing Palace:
Taiqing Palace, the most largely extended one
in Mount Laoshan, lies in the southeast of the mountain
and faces the sea. Altogether, it has more than
140 rooms including Three Gods' Hall, Three Purities'
Hall and Three Emperors¨Hall. Mingxia
Cave:
Mingxia cave is in front of xuanwu Peak and is
the highest and deepest temple in Mount Laoshan.
Its main structure is Doumu Palace that has three
springs and the upper one is called "Holy Water".

Shangqing Palace:
Shangqing palace, located between Mingxia cave
and Longtan Waterfall, is of the oldest in Mount
Laoshan. It is composed of the main hall and the
left and right halls with many historic sites around.
The huge "Immortal tree" in the front
yard has undergone more than one thousand years.
Longtan Waterfall:
Longtan Waterfall, one of the two great waterfalls
in Mount Laoshan, has two separate parts that pour
down into the ravine from the high cliff. The water
roars, and sparkles. A rainbow can be seen in the
sunshine, hence one of the wonders in Mount Laoshan.
